Sweet. You have side views?

I visited his shop when he was cleaning your carb: There was Mark, squatting over a pan full of cleaner, scrubbing your carb with a toothbrush, scraping crud from each crevice with a screwdriver, inspecting each contour as he lifted the part into the light ... I'm always amazed at the detail he puts into it. I guess it shows.

He's got my '74 carb now ...

:D

:D

He needs an ultrasonic cleaner.

Mark is the man :D

He knows these motors in and out as well :D
I had sooo much good advice that i have never heard from anyone else, man knows his f motors :)

He also has tons of awesome early 40 parts too.
If you are looking for something give him a call straight away!

Thanks again Mark!

Destin, thanks for the pics. I know you asked me to take some, but everyone knows my picture taking skilz leave a lot to be desired.

Even the pic of Fast Eddy's carb that made it into Toyota4WD OWNERS mag sucked compared to the ones Fast Eddy took himself.

Glad to hear your rig is back on the road. I'm with the others in saying that you should leave well enough alone and store this for a rainy day.

Best

Mark A.

Nice :D

Thanks Mark :D

Yeap this one is gonna sit on my shelf as back up for down the road. :)
Pulling 20 steady pounds of vacuum once warmed up, no need to mess with that :D

Might advance the timing a hair, but we will see, will read the plugs next week and see where i am at :D

Well, it’s taken 16 years for a shinier SD40 than Destin’s to cross my workbench. But I think @tahoe40/45 1961 is shinier overall. Blue plate is not as sharp as Destin’s, but admittedly I did not try to clean it either. But the zinc plating is near perfect 10

So when I restore my original carb should I also zink plate everything?
You dont have to. The one above was covered in oil and dirt which mostly preserved its original look. It was just cleaned then rebuilt.

If you want a fully restored original look then zink plating is the way to go.
