Starting another build. Base platform is 4' x 6'. The goal is to keep this as light as possible so that I can pull this with the 40.

When I ordered my axle (from Southwest wheel) I ordered it with the same pattern, 6 on 5.5. My older build you see in the background has 80 wheels on it and plan to swap those over.Subscribed to this thread! I'm thinking of doin the same thing this summer both as a "learn to weld" project and to save myself the time of getting all the family camping gear strapped down to the roof of the '40. Are you thinking of swapping axles to use the same bolt pattern as what you have on your truck?
Looking forward to seeing how your build comes out!
That does complicate it for sure. When I built my first "mil camper" the M101A1 I always wanted a permanent awning on it but after 15years never did it.Awning is one thing I want to add to my trailer.. just need to figure it out. My trailer (m416) has a lid that opens to access inside. Awning complicates things quickly.
Here is an idea for your side table.
