I'm going to close this thread, my supplier is not able to get them anymore, sorry fellas. 9/10/13


Anyone interested in purchasing some authentic Scepter cans?
These are lightly used cans coming from a military maintenance base.
Most are tan and OD green, I also have tan water cans.
These cans go for $110-$120 on ebay and craigslist.
I do not have nozzles, but the gasket on these are still in good shape, the condition varies.
Used price $45/can, buy 4 or more for $40/can
Just to clarify, this is for future stock. I have 6 fuel cans and 4 water cans but I'm keeping them for personal use.
I'm in SoCal/OC area, I can ship on buyers dime, but I do not know how much, I will find out if someone is interested.

Interested in 4 of the fuel cans, OD green or tan (all the same color). What are the dates on these?

Are the water cans the same price? Typically the water can sell for much less than the fuel cans.

I carry 3 Sceptor fuel cans on my rear swing out from time to time. Never had an issue.
However, I did read somewhere that CHP has recently pulled several offroaders over and checked their cans manufacture date. I think their is a "grandfather" date. So if cans were made before this date, you can have them. Mine are from the mid 90's and I think are OK.

Not sure of the exact date though. Maybe someone more knowledgeable can post that up here.

Also, I seem to recall reading that they needed to be labeled in red for gas or yellow for diesel with the appropriate colored cap strap.

One of my three cans doesn't have the red strap and I think that I might wrap it with red tape to make it less noticeable to a CHP with nothing better to do.

I would buy two fuel cans in tan if they aren't all spoken for.

I always covered mine if carrying my gas cans for security (not attract attention) and the reason you posted (my cans are olive drab).

how many are there? Can I get 2 tan cans? Anyone want to go halves on 4 so we can save $10 each?

I currently have 3 cans on the back of my truck. They don't have color coded straps. I had a cop knock on my door to eye f my truck closer (he said he is building a cruiser). He didn't mention anything about my tinted windows, tires outside the fenders, my fuel cans, no mud flaps or any other violation my truck has. I even asked him about it, he said, "if a cop wants to pull you over, he'll find a reason to, period". Aint that the truth.
 
Sorry guys, I don't have an update from the seller. I just text him, now waiting for reply. I hope he has enough for everybody. I will update the thread as soon as I get something.
