I don’t believe the current seller has anything to do with the discrepancy.

I saw this ad and talked to the seller. Doesn't seem to know much about the car except that "the dealer took care of everything" Not sure if there is any odometer discrepancy, it may have just sat or been driven minimally.

I'd refer to the Carfax before the Lexus Database. I believe data can be entered by both the Dealership and the owner, which can lead to mistakes such as this. The Carfax should show a consistent reading upon registration/title renewals.

I wouldn't call this a scam until all the facts are in line.

FWIW, AutoCheck report isn't helpful here. Mileage goes from 52,251 on 11/22/2006 to 101,058 on 7/28/18 (both odometer readings from DMV).

Well, then it's advertised with the correct mileage...

Doesn't appear to be a scam to me, especially with a photo of the ODO.

Also, those services are just complimentary wash, vacuum etc.

Where did that report come from? Did the seller provide it?

Regardless, this is kind of pointless information to include in a sale, "hey, look, I had the dealership vacuum, wash and wax my Lexus and in the process, created an odometer discrepancy!"

If Autocheck/Carfax do not highlight a ODO Issue or Title Issue, there's really nothing to worry about:

that a lexus service record printout. It shows that the truck has been running without an odometer for 8 years. Could the truck have only been drive 16k miles in 8 years? possibly. is it likely? Hell no.

It might still be a great truck, but don't pay a premium for low miles.
