I don't know much about this style of York compressor but if you're looking to add air to your 80, contact Jon Held on the Gotham City list. He did a really clean install on his 80 several years back and documented it well with pictures, part #'s, and a write-up to pull it all together.
His set up is VERY efficient, airing my four 36" Swampers from 8 psi to 25 psi in about 8 minutes! That's comparable to my small 20gal/220v shop compressor!

I saw his write up and I agree it is very clean. I think he is using the older style flat top. Jeeper Jim and I got a pair of sanden style for $20 ea. The problem is no one makes mounts for them. I think I am going to get slee's 3 pully for the water pump and fab up a mount.
I think the sanden will pump tons of air. They have between 5 and 7 cylendars. The old yorks have 2.
From some other readings sandens are used in Aus. and other countries. Probably because of the lack of the old yorks. So I know it will work. Now I just need to get to work.

Sanden and York are 2 different manufacturers. www.onboardair.com used to have info on both units. Scott Simmons had a Sanden in his 93 FZJ80 (ZaBigDog) when I first got turned on to the OBA concept. He ran it off the crank pulley that has the additional belt slot for the blower. IIRC the 2 compressors are very different in design. The Sanden is a rotary unit and the York is a piston unit. The York has a sump and the Sanden requires oil on the intake.
Keep in mind that I'm digging some old info out of my old and crusty noggin, so I make no guarentee as to it's validity.

Sorry, I mispoke just now. The sandens can be both piston and scroll style.

The one I have is a "sanden style" piston compressor with a york mfg plate on it and has an oiler. I'll post a pic when I get a chance. They look like modern coolant pumps that still use oil instead of refrigerant to lubricate.
They use them in Aus. and such so I know they work it is just gonna be a hastle to make the mount.

Exactly, inclusive kit. I found some people around here that would help me, retired machinists and metal fab guys. I just need to contact them. I have a harbor freight air pump I got cheap so I put it on the back burner.

I have this same pump and want to use it as onboard air also. The link to the other forum does not work for me. So did you guys find out if this pump works as an air compressor? do you have to modify the compressor at all?
