Only headache I am having right now is a lost wallet, which will likely set tje project back. I ordered the bellhousing with the wifes CC and thencompany doesnt want to charge it. What a pita.

John, it may be diesel power but not 3.4 power and nowhere near as impressive of a swap.

Building a buddy some sliders for his H3 this weekend. I can by any size steel from my supplier with no minimums or maximums. They don't carry round tubing though and my buddy wants a tube that comes out off of the slider. I called allover the cities yesterday and only found one place to supply the round tube. Due to their minimum order policies, I had to order 60', so I'm sure you'll see some tube work in the near future.

Right now, I'm gathering parts to swap in an intercooled 3L-T out of a Hilux. So that will be the next major mod you see from me.

Glad to hear you found your belhousing and the 3-LT will be sweet looking forward to seeing that swap :)

..and now I have to find a hood scoop. I will have to cut the hood for the intercooler so much for horny yota.

Here's what I've been working on here and there for the last could of days. It's not for a Toyota, but still my be a temporary "fab fix" for those of you too busy to pick up a wrench, torch, or welder. I'll add more over the as I do more. Next steps involve getting the H3 in driveway to make some final measurements before making some final cuts and weld'em up + paint. He has to get it here during the the day and we don't have much of that after work, so it will have to be finished on my next available weekend. Also, the chevy is due for an oil change, pics and a walkthrough of that to come, lol.

Looks nice and dry Ryan :)

Seems like it rained all day. Btw, that's my buddy's 470HP 6.4l charger next to me.

Nice looking car , I bet thats a fun one to get sideways ;)

It doesn't take much.

Ryan, did you purchase the top new from a vendor or build it yourself? I'm also curious how much it set up back. I've been driving mine a lot to work lately and and really only getting 15 mpg with it.I'm thinking the auto is hurting the fuel economy on it.

This is a Softopper top.

Toyota 4Runner Soft Top Retractable Removable Brand new | eBay

I bought it in used, but good condition from a MUD member in Denver. Pretty easy install and weighs a lot less than the fiberglass top. I figured I needed to lighten the rear after putting so much weight so far out back with the bumper/tire/jack carrier. I really like it so far. We'll see how easy it is to get up and down in the warmer weather. I'm only getting about 16.5 right now, but I'm only 3 mile (in town) from work and I have a huge hill climb on the way home.

Not cheap but i do like it Ryan.

Likein' the Top.. :D

I wouldn't mind a soft top rig, can feel the wind through my hair.. :D

Thanks
Cody

That means you have a huge down hill coast on the way there so that cancels out.

Pulling motors this weekend?

I probably could coast if I want always behind a school bus on the way to work. Considerably more traffic in the mornings in general.

I am about to get dress, get food, and head over to the shop to at least pull the diesel. Wish me luck!

Gotta keep this thing alive so I'm building a bumper for the front.

Actually wanted to check out Marlin's new bumpers, but couldn't get an ETA on them, so I'm building my own out of stuff I have lying around. it will be similar to a TG tube bumper, but without the stinger. I wanted to go plate, but decided it was more important to get plenty of air to that diesel radiator.

Anyway, its mostly done now. I was moving so fast last night that I only took one picture before my phone died.

Nice looking forward to seeing more  I like how the bender setup fits perfectly between the two garage doors  Are you building a winch mount into it?

Yes, it will have a winch mount. For that, I am using a piece of steel that was already bent at 90* and gusseting it for strength and welding in a flat piece for the fairlead. Could one of you guys let me know what the dimensions are for your winch mounts? I think mine is sticking out too far with 9" out from the grill. I'll probably end up going with the 12,000lb harbor freight winch. I've read good things about it and with 12k, it should be able to pull my 3k truck out of some pretty nasty situations (95% of the time I just need some help getting up a slick hill anyway).
