I am in the early stages of my 71 FJ40 build. I need to line up a 2F engine as it seems to be the better option over rebuilding my F motor. I am considering the 4 spd swap as well so if someone had both that would work too. I would like to find a 2F that is preferably not in need of an immediate rebuild.

I have one that is rebuilt with only 1500 miles that I would let go of. Its in great shape and runs really well. All new gaskets, rings, bearings etc. It was a low mileage motor that I picked up with no knowledge of what kind of shape it was in. The pistons were within spec so they did not need to be replaced. Everything else is new. I built it for a customer who ran it for a short period of time and then he decided to swap in a 5.0 Ford. PM me if you are interested.

Where are you located? I am in central Vermont and there is a 2f on Craigslist with a 4 speed listed for $650

Ok. I have one in DFW I need to check on. It’s a 2.5 hour drive for me.
 
I have some used engines represented as runners I bought from Midwest Landcruiser in 1990 that I have stored in the back of my shop for 28 years now. I have never had an opportunity to investigate them. Long locks, no harmonic balances. $500.

Thanks Mark. I have one shipping out tomorrow out of North Florida. Now that I have my drivetrain lined up I will be in touch soon for some more stuff i need.

My most immediate need will be a new clutch to put this drivetrain together. Do you carry them?
