7:30 am meet
8:00 am departure

So far Andrew, Dan and I are in. Others??
 
Ok, so being somewhat nonplussed by the idea of getting up around 5 to come wheeling in sooke, here's my plan.

Work on 42/drink beer, till late tonight, go to bed.

Wake up, look at clock. if it says 4something,( I usually wake up stupid early) I'll get up, drink as much coffee as I can find, and come wheeling

if it says 6 or later, f'it, back to sleep....

my dogs will thank my if I go for option two. no one around to look after them, so they'd be out in the rain for a loooong time.

git your ass down to the cold beer/wine for a dozen or so, and make your way over to my place in that chemainus cadillac of yours and jump in with me. Better yet wheel the piss outta that truck of yours/post some pics of it and watch it sell for 15K$....:grinpimp:

too late, the chemainus caddy now lives in victoria somewhere, so at present I'm without a fully functional vehicle...the 42 now lurches back and forth into the garage tho...


nothin like a bit of a deadline to make you get a truck done faster...mel's home in a week , and she's gonna want her car back...


also too late on the beer...:grinpimp: I was over the .0006 or whatever the hell it is about 8 hours ago...:beer:

and now to bed, and I ain't settin' no alarms...:flipoff2:

So woke up this morning after a pleasant and restful alcoholic coma, looked at the clock and it said 6:45...thought about leaping out of bed and into the car, but only for a second or two..

going to pull a fairly long session on the 42 today. new fenders and some body work.
 
Breakin' birfs and blowin' tires. And that was just me! :crybaby:

Well, just got home half an hour ago. Great run minus some small stuff. You know, like pulling my axle out on the side of the moutain :flipoff2:

What I learned today: if you DO break a birf... you can remove all the bits and pieces and then lock your center diff and still get 2 wheel power! If you can't lock your center diff then you're stuck, not moving an inch. Good thing I installed that CDL switch the other day so I was able to drive home in high... jeesh~

Thanks for your help getting me running again though Dan and Cam!

LOL... Good run guys and girl, glad you made it home o.k. Andrew. Welcome to the world of wheeling/breaking stuff, and to do it all over again...! Get some parts ordered-up and we'll get that front end fixed-up.

Wheew what a trip!

Andrew was a good man for continuing on after the birf busting. His 2.5 Wheel drive 80 did just fine and instead of turning around and heading for home we headed to the summit.

Good teamwork and between all of our tools and supplies we got home just fine. A bit late but fine none the less.

I thought I'd survive my first "damage free" run. Twas not ment to be. Leaving the trail not 50ft from the pavemant while driving around a tank trap I said to Gina, "Jayson flew around this bit in 2nd gear 1/2 sidways in one pass".... CRUNCH. Oops. Thanks Dan for the old 60 headlight door I bought from you last week. Came in handy already:beer::beer:

Cam and I made a frankenstein birfield out of Morgan's donor and my left over parts today. Wow... what a job. Success though!!!!!!!!!!! I'm back in business. Wheel bearings and a seal kit is definitely on the list now though. Those bearings were DRY... repacked with grease, but they need replacing.
