With the sliders welded and off to powder I took the time to reroute the exhaust.
I needed to run the exhaust inside the frame to I picked up a 105 series downpipe. Now if I’m being honest, if you cut the downpipe flange and rotate it 90 degrees I am 99% sure it will bolt right into the muffler with little effort. Essentially it’s almost a bolt-on option.
That said my exhaust was completely rusted tight so the only option I really had was to cut the exhaust off.
I purchased BRExhaust catback and cut and fit the intake pipe to work with the 105 series downpipe. No tube bender needed, I just a section of the unused pipe, cut the flanges and welded it up.
TLDR: 105 series downpipe is almost a direct fit for the 94 exhaust. I converted an aftermarket 95+ exhaust to fit with the 105 series downpipe pipe.
I wrapped painted the downpipe with high heat paint and wrapped it with a titanium wrap. With the downpipe running closer to the tunnel and next to the transmission and transfer case, I wanted to ensure they were not impacted by excessive exhaust heat. These wraps claim 50% reduction in heat.
One of the things I like about the BRExhaust is that the rear tail pipe is a slip fit with a clamp. Since I offroad I had previously cut the resonator off the OEM exhaust because it gets bashed in. With this slip fit, I can run the tailpipe and resonator for daily driving or to and from a trail, and take it off when I am off-roading.
