The more medics the better. I also am a medic and on the Medic committe. Bruce Schoff is the chair and Jerry Reffner is also on the committee. We are going in on Tuesday to help with our clubs camp committee stuff. When you get in, look us up. We camp back behind the kitchen. Look for the toys on the rocks guys. Looking forward to meeting ya.

Well the questions I had for Tony are multiple. First was to figure out how I register for Rubithon this year. I won one of his free registrations while at one of the other events last year. So Just trying to figure out how to register with him because I usually order extra t-shirts and things like that.
Second I was going to bring a raffle prize. Had thought a hi-lift would be easy for me I know a Napa Auto Parts Store who will let me buy it at cost. So if there was maybe a different item that might be better I can talk to the owner and see what I can do.
And third I am a Paramedic who normally goes in solo with my family but can bring along some work toys in case there is any one in need. Probably will still do the solo thing but I am on the trail on Wednesday and Thursday getting to camp Thursday evening so by CB or something I could still prove useful if someone needs help.

Tony or Dave,

or I guess anyone for that matter that has run the Rubicon before. Are there any Rattle Snakes in this area? Also what is the Tick situation? We are bringing our dogs and want to make sure we protect them from everything we can. We are going to give them a Rattle snake vaccine for sure anyway since we have them in our back yard but may bring a antidote with us too.

The antidote is expensive and a non return item that has to stay cold so if it is not needed we would rather not buy it. If there are specific dangers we should be aware of, besides rolling etc. please post them up. We love our dogs and want to protect them best we can.

PS Please don't post "Leave them at home" that is not an option!

Yes there are Rattle snakes in the area.
Frontline would take care of your ticks.

Thanks for the info guys:cheers:

We just came back from the Vet yesterday and got some Frontline for Ticks and Sand fleas.

Toys on the Rocks guys, we met on the Hells Revenge run I think. I have the 85 4Runner, tan with a black soft top. One of your guys broke down and we had to get Red Chili to weld the steering arm back. Anyway I have SOME EMT training, never got to finish it :frown: Anyway i can help out if needed.

Doggies are going to love it there and at Stinson Beach, the reason I get to go on this trip. We were in San Fran last year and went to Stinson beach and she the Doggies beach sign and wanted our dogs to be there, we did not think that would happen.

Next thing you know Rising Sun is planning a trip to the Rubithon..........................."Honey the dogs would love to go to the beach!!!!!!!" A few pictures later of the trail and the camping spots and she was sold!!! :D:D:D

your dog is going to LOVE Stinson! Cj has a great time whenever we go there... Another great place, in South SF is Ft. Funston, also on the coast.. Dogs galore there...

hijack over.... Go Rubithon... :)

I've seen two rattlers in 10 years of Rubithon -- They exist, but not common. With the number of EMT's that we have, I wouldn't think it would be an issue for a human, not sure on the dogs.

I haven't heard of any bites during that time.

Just an FYI, we have a main Rubithon thread in the TLCA Events section... easier if in one place.

As far as snakes, they are indigenious (splg) to CA, but I have yet to see any there. As noted, your dogs should be leashed so barely a worry. Frontline will take care of any tick issue.

I just deposited some checks, if you sent yours in April, it should have cleared by now. Drop me a PM to TRT2 or email me at Rubithon@tlca.org so we can confirm. I am caught up within last week.

We are approaching the deadline for registrations! Please send in my end of May so we can accumulate our various counts and stuff.

Committee leads, ensure your teams have registered!

again, lets keep this in the thread in the TLCA Events section... rock on.

Looking forward to seeing you. Did you do Hells Gate? If so, that was me in riding shotgun with you. Nice rig:beer:
Look us up, we will be behind the cooking area. We will be going in Tuesday (some on Wed) to set up camp. As far as the EMT training, anything will help. Myself and Eric in our club are on the medical comm.

Have a safe trip out here.

Yeah - It's really wet. there are 2 - 4 feet of snow in spots. Tahoma side is passable, but deep

Have you registered yet??
If not do it now. Tony needs to get t-shirt and food counts. Can't exactly run to grocery store if they run out of something.

Talked to a friend who went in last week and they were gonna camp at dirty dozen but he backed up after his 46's went under at river cross.

Rubithon Sponsors

Rubithon is only a week away and the excitement and anticipation is building. The raffle committee has been working hard to make sure we have lots of GREAT prizes in the raffle. The sponsor page has been updated with the list of supporters of our event. Please thank them by supporting their companies, and when you order parts or see them at an event thank them for their support of Rubithon and TLCA.

Check out the updated Sponsor web page here Rubithon: the official TLCA event

Also, I want to thank all of the attendees that every year personally donate to the Rubithon Raffle by bringing prizes directly to the event. Each year we are amazed at the generosity.
