Any tips on what term to search for my "water bridge/ waterbridge" as I can't find on mud? Need to fix the wiggle pipe in pic above. Thanks.

Coolant crossover pipe

Is this a common leak? I didn't find any post about these leaking coolant crossover part.

What's been previous issues: pipe coming off? Is the pipe just press fit into the alum crossover? I can have this weld up cheaper than replacing. Thanks again gents.

This is not the cross over pipe, it's the pipe coming off and part of, the "water by-pass joint, rear"

We've seen it leak now & then on the board. IMHO it happens most often due to mechanic putting to much pressure on pipe when removing heater hose, heater Tee or just working in area.

I think it would be difficult to wield as it's so thin, but I'm not a wielder. The pipe appears press fitted, so I suppose one could pull out & clean the pipe then use FIPG to seal back in, as a temp field fix. One would need the more expensive 1282B FIPG (~$80) which is recommended for coolant system use.

In the picture it looked like it was only leaking from above at the hose, and hose looked a little swollen. Swollen hoses should be replaced. The reason this by-pass needs replacing; pipe is reportedly loose at fitting to by-pass, so it will leak soon.

Proper procedure:

The cost to replace with plus two gaskets is about $80 and it's easy. It can be done (reportedly in mud) without removing the intake manifold on none VVTi 2UZ-FE engines (98-05).

No need to replace as a PM, but the rear and the front water by-pass needs inspecting, especially if any coolant loss is detected. I found gasket leaking on LH front of a 2007 water by-pass joint leaking. See pictures in post #45 and beyound: Just scored a 2007 LC
