The Pelican case is from stock photos at www.expeditionexchange.com , it's a Rover oriented website, but the dealings I've had with them have been top notch, and the dual can carrier is very well designed.

Overall, the Pelican cases are great! I've got one mounted on the back of my motorcycle for secure storage of the Sat phone and papers on trips.

The black box above the driver's "o' $hit" grip is an old cell phone microphone, which I've since removed. The old Magellan gets suprisingly good sat coverage from that location, although I must add that I don't use the GPS much. My main usage is to pinpoint a position when I'm too lazy to triangulate using a map/compass

The beach pics are all in Baja. For those of you who've not had the opportunity to go, it's a fantastic place, with great people and stunning scenery. Since my first trip a couple of years ago, it only gets better. Having such a wonderful place for adventure and relaxation so close to Arizona is a blessing. Don't listen to the rumors of banditos and sickness! The Mexican people are warm and friendly, the beaches kick ass, and the fish tacos are unbeatable!

I agree 100%! Have you ever been to San Felipe, Baja? That place is beautiful  ...

I'll have to get a close up pic of how I've attached the awning....it's simple, yet complicated to explain....

San Felipe is nice, Mariscos Conchita has some great food, and cheap too!

This was taken on the way to Bahia San Luis Gonzaga south of Puertocitos, and on the beach at sunrise!

Viva Mexico!

So H, the little black box is for the cell phone? I always thought was something to do with the alarm glass breaking sensor!

Guess I will be pullin wires tonight! Been meaning to clean the 80 from the factory motorolla phone system.

More on track for ROTW - Sweet setup! You seem to have fully utilized the 80 for your use!

Nice pics too of your travels.

Finally a rig with the 3FE powa :flipoff2:. Very very nice rig, How do you setup the remote battery? Can you do dual batteries in a 3FE without the remote location?

luving the beach pics! everyone i see is more ammunition for getting the better 1/2 to give the stamp of approval for more mods on the cruiser.. is there a thread/faq on going to baja? if not do you think we could start one? when i get back from overseas.. that'll be the family vacation to do before being sent back out..

There are several of my previous Baja trips in the Trails/Events/Expeditions section here on mud, as well as a short write up on my most recent (June '05) motorcycle trip. In the Outfitting section we had a thread going on equipment lists, and I've put both my Cruiser lists and motorcycle lists up there.

I couldn't really find a good place under the hood to put the second battery. I even looked at the new Optimas for hondas, which are about 1/2 the size of a regular one, but the Amp/Hours are less, so I went with the remote location in the rear.

My isolator is located on the USDS left engine bay, and I've run 4 guage battery cable down the rocker panel and over to the battery in the USPS rear cargo area. The battery is grounded to the body in the rear.

Curious if you have thought about a 4BT swap instead of 1HD-T. The reason I ask is that I'm looking to "move-up" to an 80 possibly and might want to do a 4BT only because of $$$ invovled in a Toyota diesel.

Your 80 is a perfect model for what I want my rig to be like when it grows up!!!

H nice rig dude.

Very clean and innovative. :D

Even if it is a 3FE.

A few people have questioned how I've mounted the Hannibal awning to the Con-Fer (and in earlier pics, the Yakima) racks. Since the Hannibal awning has an integrated mounting bracket for the flat sides of the Hannibal aluminum rack, I've used a couple of pieces of 4" angle iron, mounted the awning to that with the appropriate sized bolts, and then used 1 3/4" U bolts to attach the awning to the ends of the Yakima Bars.

1" bars were bolted to the bottom of the Con-Fer Rack, and the awning was then mounted to the extended studs. Works Great!

Wow, very cool ROTW, love the expedition setup and it is completely clear (from the tents, the kayaks, etc.) that thing takes you to your fun!!!

One question, what advantages/disadvantages does the centrifugal snorkel cleaner have. Thanks again, awesome rig!!!

He sold the truck quite a while back........

He sold the truck quite a while back........

Yeah, he bought a 4Runner a few weeks ago:confused: So I don't think he is allowed in this section anymore:flipoff2:

The centrifugal pre cleaner is an industrial/agricultural equipment item. as the air slows down the dirt drops out of it and collects in the bowl of the pre cleaner.
It really works. I can't remember what equipment the one that fits the Safari Snorkel is. I'll be in his office on Tuesday, so I'll ask him then.
