Hi All:

You know, re-building the stock t-case mounted e-brake assembly is *not* that big a deal nor that expensive! Properly adjusted it will hold the rig just fine.

Regards,

Alan

Agreed, and I would go that route but I have a split case so I am SOL in that department until I get a kit. Its not really that big of a deal to me so spending $$ on one isn't going to happen any time soon. Thanks for the heads up though Alan.

Jon

Most excellent. Sounds like you went about getting it the right way. A great looking cruiser. Do you like how it rides with the lift and new seats?

 Chad

Thanks guys,

Chad, the ride is pretty good overall. The HFS shocks are a bit bouncy at lower speeds but nothing really to complain about. Having the aluminum tub I don't think helps out with ride quality either, the springs are well built for sure and the rig is pretty light with the new tub. It definately is a stiffer ride now with the top off.

Here's a shot with the top off, as you can see not much terrain over here.

Very nice rig, and build-up! And summer's coming. YE-HAH !!!

Jon,

Looks great and I like the route you're taking with the 10.5s and stock wheels.

Hey, where's a shot of the rear w/ a tailgate? Oh yeah, I bought your Aqualu tailgate! ;)

Actually, just got done tonight installing it on the freshly painted tub and drilling all the holes and aligning it. Fits like a glove!

We'll have to meet up at URE sometime to do some trail riding.

I never should have sold it . Oh well, it makes it easier for my dog to jump into the back when its time to go for a ride. Glad it worked out for you, and when I make it to URE I will be sure and give ONSC a heads up. Thanks Drew.

congrats! You have a very nice cruiser!

Happy cruisin'

The rear driveshaft was definately the hardest thing I had to deal with after the lift. I had about an inch of spline showing.

I live in an area that is not renouned for its stellar machine shops so after three attemps with the local rednecks, I'd had enough. I decided to go with a CV and an early 60 series front shaft was the perfect fit (minus having to cut out the torque tube). Got one from another MUD member and no more issues after shimming the rear axel to get the pinion angle correct.

forgot to add this pic, here is the 60 cv shaft and shims installed.

Good evening Sir.

I have yet to see your 40 on base sir. Then again I have only been in Jacksonville for a week. My reserve unit is going to Iraq at the end of the summer. So we are here mobilizing. I wish that I had brought My 40, but I don't think she would have made the 15 hour drive from Little Rock. Yours is set up about like mine Sir, but in alot better shape body wise. I just wanted to say hi sir, because I enjoy chating with fellow mudders. I look forward to seeing your 40 around the base. I'll keep an eye out for y'all Sir. :)

Easy on the Sir stuff. I only take it to work about once a week. You should stop by VMM-162 and ask for the Airframes OIC (me). I will bring it in sometime and let you check it out, or if you ever see it just stop by.

Jon,

Just painted my stock rollbar today with "stainless steel" paint. Tall silver can from Lowes...Rustoleum "Professional". Looks good for spray bomb paint can.

Drew

I will check into that, thanks Drew. I was planning on going the base paint booth to see if they could get something that would be more durable than rattle can paint. Someone told me they have something with a hardner in it. How did yours come out?

Nice cruiser, good find.

Sorry to see that you had to transition to the dark side, but once a Phrog guy, always a Phrog guy.

I'll be back to the easy coast end of September with my '76 FJ once I get back from the Sand Box. Going to be adding the H55 once I get down there and may pick your brain on any good shops to get the work done as there ain't enough hours in the day to undertake that job.

Take it easy

And, just fooling around about the transition, I'll be there myself on the not too distant future if I want to keep flying. We do have one of your 162 brethren over here at 262. He's a good man

Nice Rig Marine, What make of Brushguard it that?
Semper

I don't know who makes the brush gaurd, it came with the truck when I got it. It seems pretty stout for being bolted on.

I think Poser has the same one on his red truck, he probably knows, give him a PM.
