Fortunately that was about the only drama and were able to relocate the sender back to the right spot.

With that out of the way, we broke in the cam (20 mins at 2000rpm) and watched for any new leaks (zero) and kept an eye on the temp (190).

Then, hit the streets:

We’re still waiting on the dyno tuner, but will make a few adjustments and keep putting break in miles on it.

So, you kinda brushed over what exactly you did. I know because you tried to explain it to me but for the world….

What’s going on with the special sauce here using the Toyota distributor and coil?

I am wondering - see the advance on the dizzy capped off and wondering what is under the cap.
Another clue is strapped to the coil.

We have had Holley Hyperspark ignition systems for a while now. These are controlled by the Sniper and use a Holley/MSD dizzy, a large CD box, and a large coil. These systems are great and are made to work together.

We thought it would be cool to have a Toyota distributor controlled by the Sniper with factory wires and a canister coil. This uses a new small cap points distributor, which we’ve locked out the vac and mechanical advances and swapped the points to electronic pickup. We run this through the Sniper and magic sniper module so that the Sniper talks to the coil.

Final numbers: 139.5 hp, 199 ft-lbs

We got a 20 hp, 35 ft-lb improvement over The Warthog, which had the vac advance ignition but did also have a bigger cam

We’ve overcome the drivetrain losses and met the published crank output numbers 🙌
