Greetings,
I'm looking for a roof rack for my 1978 FJ55 that is similar to the Slimline- low profile, clean design, light weight, flat to accommodate a RTT.
I'm not a welder so no DIY. I'd like to avoid the heavy steel tube frame racks if possible, but, like every other accessory or part, there seems to be very few options for the 55 Series.
Thanks in advance for suggestions.

My thoughts are just have someone build exactly what you want. By the time you find something and try to except that it's not quite right, you'll have one built that you think is perfect.

Pictures when you get one.

Just an option... This rack sits about 1.25" off the top of the roof crown.

Also, free shipping 'til the end of the month...

Still anxiously awaiting shipment.

Yes, Gamiviti is making them for the 55. Im getting one also. Mine will be different but the same. It will be a bit longer different expo bar set-up. I need to have some kind of cradles for a 22' tandem ocean kayak and tandem Mt bike.

Did you ever get your rack?

I am finally getting around to the rack lights. Anyone have ideas for routing wiring from the roof? My headliner is really nice and I don't want to interfere with it

Rhino Rack has a clean low profile flat on top rails that accommodate slide bolts in the tracks. Adding components and configuring things any way you want is easy. I think I paid $750 for 56" x 84". Supports are a bit bulky looking. Only used 6. very easy to mount things where you want them

Im going 56X96 or so. have not decided. I think the Gamviti is the best out there. there are so many custom options. They seam to put a lot of thought into them, nice welds, too..

Finally got lights up. Need to wire them in now.
The one driver cover is off color. Same mfg but different vendor??

Orange is a nice look with the 70 series lights.

@jasonbraswell what kind of axles are those? And what did you have to do to get those 70 series signal buckets to look so good? I could not get mine to sit like that without modifying the housings...good lookin pig, BTW. classic stance.
