Hello Guys, I would like to ask if somebody are running the Supersliders of Rocky Road.

Follow the pictures look nice, and have nice price too.

I am particular worry for the dimension, I means, there are enough space between the rockrail and the extra tube, in order to use like step?

And please any other comments are welcome.
thanks
Jonathan

You could use the top bar as a step, but you may want to apply skateboard grip tape for better traction.

Does that answer your question?

Otherwise, this looks like a good setup, with the catalytic converter protection.

i dont like the mounting setup, bolts look a little vulnerable

Guranteed for life against bending and denting for 600$. Not too bad it doesn't sound like.

As far as I know, if they are bolt on then that is how it's done. How would you make them bolt on and not be vulnerable?

a u bolt setup i think would work better

I haven't bought anything for my HDJ81 through them yet, however i built my wife's suzuki sidekick through them. I will attest to there commitment to customer satisfaction. I bought the lift, snorkel, and other expedition items through them. That warranty they advertise i only had to use once do to my wife's bad judgment on a rock climb which i did not think they would cover. When i phoned down to them i actually was ready to purchase new parts but instead they told me to just take pics of the damage and email it to them. Once i emailed them the pics i got an email back informing me there was already a replacement on its way along with a apology for the "failure" They told me to just discard the part, dont bother sending it back and the new one was expedited to canada via priority ups pre-paid!!
My experience with them was excellent, enough to see my future business on the 80 build.

I had their sliders on my old XJ - good stuff. That's a great price in the 80 series market.

Hi, thanks for yours comments.

Just yesterday, I spoke to them and them should send to me the dimension and more pictures.

I think that are a great prices and good quality and good material, but I am worry with the wide of the slider, on the web page look like a short distance between the rockrail and the tube and maybe is not enough to use like step.

thanks again

After recently installing sliders on my rig, here are my observations. I like the guarantee. The price is less than most on market. The frame brackets that are visible look small and the sliders themselves look smaller than what I'm used to seeing. The supports between kickouts and main rails look weak. There is no choice for '91-'94 Landcruisers when ordering.

It doesn't add up. I'd like to get feedback from existing owner/users before pulling the trigger. Also, I'd like to see a pic of the unmounted sliders to get a better idea of their construction and mounting scheme. Pics & info on website are inadequate to make a decision for purchase, IMHO.

Ditto on that, I'd also like to hear some comments from folks who've take these out and used them.

To one of the OP's original concerns, to me they do look a little tight to the body to be effectively used as a step up. In fact they mention how tight they are so I'm sure that's the intent of the design.

If you are looking for a reasonably priced slider that also doubles very well as a step-up, 4xInnovations has a good setup (no affiliation except I'm a customer) and Adam has as good of customer service as I've gotten anywhere.

my 2 pesos.

Dan.

Had the Rocky Road Super Sliders installed on my 1996 80 Series just couple days ago. The plate protecting the two catalytic converters was a big selling point (those suckers are expensive), along with the guarantee from Rocky Road. Also, the look & feel nicely matched the Slee Front & Rear Bumper on my rig.

Not interested in serious rock-climbing, just wanted some extra protection just in case it's needed. Overall, very happy.

Was there any issue with installation? I'm expecting these to arrive this weekend and but am just now seeing some of the issues people have had with install and the lackluster mount arm size.

looks like a decent option for cheap. You paid for what you get really..
Five years, no issues. Few scratches, nothing more. Don’t rock climb but I routinely lead outings into Arizona’s remote backcountry (Old Mines & Forgotten Mining Camps, Native American sites, old historic Town locations, etc.) no problems.
