Well, I struck out on an auction for a wheel last night, hopefully to one of you fine 200 series owners.

I really want a full size spare before embarking on my trip at the end of May, and therefore have been on the hunt. The best option at this point seems to find some others in my position and try and split up a set. So I am trying to find at least one other to split up a used set. But if we somehow get 4, even better.

The seller has a shipping charge of $35 per wheel, so I am hoping we can ship direct from them. Hoping to get them under $350/wheel.

Respond here or message me if interested.

Well, thanks to this wonderful community I am picking up one wheel tomorrow, so I won't be going thru with this. For anyone that goes down this road, the guy on ebay has a used set for $1500 obo. He rejected all of my low ball offers without countering. Highest I offered was $1200, so you'll have to start higher than that.

Another option for any who just need a full size spare is to just keep your 18" spare wheel, and get a bigger tire. Can't get exactly the same but i believe you can get very close to the same outer diameter . Not a perfect option, buy it is an option.

You have exposed one of the vanity downfalls of a bumper mounted spare :bang:
yeah i had the same thought. I have my spare is a RW, but the 4 on my truck are powder coated black....the spare is still gray. Not sure what I'm going to do when i get my rear bumper. Maybe some cool tire cover

or get the Spare Tire Grill from Front Runner and run it all of the time... +25 Overlanding Points at least. Maybe +1 MPG. dunno

RWs are out performing the DOW at this point. I bought my original set for $1200 with fresh KO2 tires. Now people want $1500 without tires?

I had (still have buried in my storage unit) one of these. Very useful fits 34s, maybe a 35 if you try hard enough. Zipper needs occasional lubing from the dirt though.

Paint or plastidip to match? I know it might not be a perfect match, but you could get close. It would be harder if you had to match two different finishes, but looks like you have the standard polished aluminum bead rings.

Yeah probably the best bet. I have extra plastidip I used on my bead rings. Trasharoo the cheapes easiest option, I just don’t want to drive around town with that every day.

Just powder coat it as an early easter gift to yourself

^^^ This or go economy like me with the brown bag solution. Been contemplating a Biden mask, figured everyone would stay far away from me?

Just don’t sniff the hair on my head and you can wear your Biden mask... :)

Hoarders: Rock Warrior Edition!
:hillbilly:

Is a pallet or two of them hording? :D

Seriously though, they are the only 17" wheel that fits the suspension linkage on the Canguro 200... we've tried a handful and they all run the bypass shock lower mount. So, I buy them whenever we can as we wipe out 2-3/season it seems. If someone is reaaaaally needing a single, I can likely figure that out for the right $$ :D

Sounds like it’s time to go with 24 inchers on Monica.
