Here are some for you which I found on the net....
if your making the sliders out of tube try and finish the ends off by curving them back under the truck like the truck in that first photo otherwise you end up with a piece of tube poking out that snags and hooks up on everything usually resulting in a bit of body damage as well as having to get yourself unhooked 
and when you make them try and make sure you haven't left a big gap for your foot to slip and go down between the slider and the sill and snap your leg off both my trucks are like that and I have to be pretty careful climbing in and out when everything's wet and muddy
