I used a similar mounting method to @bhmmapping.
Personally I don't weld stuff to the frame if I don't have to. Not worried about hurting the frame, I just like to be able to remove things to work on the truck. Just this weekend I took the sliders off to sand and repaint them. Far easier than masking off and painting while on the truck.
They are a lot of work but I think its worth it. I got exactly what I wanted out of mine, no compromises to take someone elsess design.
