good:D

Well, I had a rough start. Spring pack broke on the first run :o Had it back on the trail by noon the next day though (thanks Bruce ). All in all it was a good time, and as Deny said, the food was amazing again. The weather couldn't have been any better

Wish you luck with that.; I'm lucky, only 3 hour drive to get to Waiparous. Man, was out for Karaoke tonight and it friggin rocked!! Gordon lightfoot and Iron Maiden!! Whoooooo!! See you there on Friday night.

So, you were singing Iron Maiden songs to the tune of "the wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald" ?

Sundown then Run To the Hills, although I suppose the Wreck would have been appropriate given the future state of my truck.

On a positive note, sounds like ARB will be sending out a new leaf tomorrow. to them!

I'll try and post a few of my crappy pictures at work either tommorow or the next day, sucks when you take a few days off, then get swamped. I think I heard a rumor that 45Kevin was going to write something up for the trails, and I haven't checked yet, but I know the RMLCA post up pics on their site too. Martin my co-pilot took some pics and I can post those up later too if he wants me to. The weather this year was awsome, really warm (Canadian standards) and sunny most of the time, except for the snow storm we got caught in while at the falls the first day(no snow at camp)

Once upon a time I opened the door at ~5am to a friend of mine named Deny. Together we travelled for 12 hours and eventually wound up at Camp Mockingbird in Waiparous. We arrived early enough for dinner and were treated to a lovely feast of deep fried turkey. That night we slept in the bunkhouse and were awakened early the next morning to the sound of a chainsaw.

The next morning we had breakfast, set up a tower for the Ham radio and then were off to travel around the trails led by Bruce in Random, his BJ74.

The weather cooperated for most of the day. We were treated to blue skies - one of the first days of non-gray vistas I remember at River Shiver. We stopped for lunch and had a quick fire where we roasted smokies and were treated to some awesome cookies that Tanis made us. Mmmm...

We hooked up with Curtis in the afternoon and headed up to the Falls for the second weiner roast of the day. Curtis had spent the morning back in camp.... oh yeah, forgot to mention there was a night run that I drove Random during after dinner on Friday.

After Curtis and his copilot Jeff were fed we headed back to camp for the drivers' skills event.

Dinner Saturday night consisted of Chili. It was pretty good... Mmmm... brownies. Craig has mastered that dessert. Wish I had eaten more of them that night... (I'm pretty hungry right now).

What else happened? Well, there was some more wheeling, more eating, more laughter, more drinking, a raffle and a bunch of good byes. Pretty good weekend. I'm not sure I'll make it next year, but you never know... If I do, I hope to see you there.

Here are a couple spy shots of Deny and Martin. I didn't take many pictures this year.... can you tell who I hung out with most of the time?;):)

Oh, and before I forget....

WELCOME TO THE 'HERD' MAXIMBJ70!

Max and Breane won the Swamp Donkey Instant Membership kit that the club donated to the River Shiver Liver Quiver Raffle. I hope you're making good use of the kit now that you've returned to Winnipeg

Great summary of the event Charla .
There was also the geo-caching poker run on sunday, which I guess fits under the more wheeling description. Some carnage, but mostly (all?) mechanical failures.
I had fun even tagging along in passenger seat. It gave me time to do lots more sightseeing and photography. Go ahead and post a few pics Deny.

Glad the Swamp Donkeys made it home safely.

I have plenty of pics but they are all presently held for potential use for articles 45Kevin will be writing. I'll release the pics not going to publication as soon as I can.

Hope y'all had fun. It was fun wheeling with you and, Charla, hope you're over that allergy now ;)

Regards

Jim BTW

Here are 3 of Martins photos so far, I will try to post more as I have some time. I'll try and post pics of stuff that won't conflict with any pictures Jim BTW might have took, just so that Jim won't get mad at me, drive up here and slap me up side the head.
Cheers,
Deny

final two (during the geocaching with Rocdoc and his buddy Jeff), there are a lot more pretty good ones that martin took, but I don't want to comprimize Jim BTW's mission. plus maybe it will convince a few people to head out there next year.
