I plan on attending, but then again, I did last year too, but I will try harder this year.
Cheers,
Deny

I plan on attending now that the prado is locked and lifted.

I can't wait to launch another conversation about rat stomping.

just make sure you can flex and steer without the chains hitting the body
there are a few rough spots at the River Shiver event if you take the harder trails

My Cruiser can't fit chains at all
The chained Cruisers with open diffs did fine at the two events I was at

I've got a rear locker and MTR's and had no issues (plus a small lift)

Chains are a hinderance on RS. Part of the fun is doing 180 degree donuts on a frozen pond. When Rob and I went I don't recall anybody running chains, I'm sure a lot were carrying chains, but I didn't see any on. Also, there was quite of high speed trail running, not sure if chains like that. I don't know if Wayne (crushers) will be around for RS (I doubt it) so high speed might be out.

I think a lot depends on the conditions too, I know the year I went, it was icy, and a locked up mini truck on 31s with 4 chains went everywhere while some of the bigger trucks were sliding around. The chains definatley suck if you need to drive a bit down the road to the trailhead, all banging and clanging around.

I spoke with Wayne a while ago about RS. He will be in Ont in his knew home for RS. He is doing a run on Nov 17th and put out a general invite:

"Well guys, we are shipping the "tractor" 1990 PZJ70, turbo, intercooler, propane injection on 36 tractor tires (hence the name), locked in the rear blah blah blah to Ontario the end of the month and i would like to do one last off road run with the boys in Alberta before i go.
Nov 17th i am heading to the 13 mile run, just south of Mountain air lodge. if you are interested in attending let me know with a direct email to wayne@crushersrule.com
Delicas, Pajeros, Cruisers all welcome. pin stripping by mother nature a STRONG possibility. the chance of rolling a slim possibility. small amount of mud, steep hills both up and down with a absolutely fantastic view at the end."

So if you are around Calgary in the next two weeks, you might want to hook up with him.

I am still going time to get a 74 together

Ya its getting some paint right now(BJ74),had the ARBs put in , some yoko M/T
4 inch ZEAL lift with inverted shackles, and trying to find a 24v motor for the 8274, Im not fooling around this time oh ya and a 3.5" exhaust dump

You may have to go direct to Warn and get it new. I have been watching for over a year and have yet to see and used 24V motors come up anywhere. Or you can just do as Crushers claims - run the 12V motor on 24V. It will make it pull like stink. Not sure how long it will last untill it kills the motor or the solenoid pack.

I would ask Greg or Sheldon about 24v motors. I believe Sheldon found a shop that will rewind the 12v to 24v.
