I was considering purchasing a new set of steelies for my off road set of 285 75 16's.

What rim width would you use? Stay with OEM or go to a 9" rim?

I would not go any wider than stock. Haven't heard of anyone using a 9" wide rim for 285s.

stock looks dandy...wider may make losing beads worse...

IMO, section thickness x .66 = rim suggestion...

    11.5" x .66 = 7.59...8"ll do...

    Keep the stock 16x8" wheels.

I'm running 285/75R16 MTRs on them without complaints.

    Thanks for the info.

I've seen replacement stock wheels going for up to 700.00 per set and I don't want mess them up. She still is my DD.

I stick with the OEM 16X8 for my "play" wheels.
