Mudders, need your help… not too long ago I rebuilt my front knuckles including new birfield joints. This is my second time doing it myself so I’m pretty sure I did it correctly, but I’m hearing a skipping/chirping noise when making a sharp right turn at slow speeds, like in a parking lot or on loose gravel. I have had my 1994 80 series since 1997 and it has over 300k miles (about 2k on remanufactured engine) but the transfer case has never been serviced… could this be the problem or maybe the differential? When reversing it does feel like something is binding or brake is being lightly applied. Any help is appreciated! Thank you.

I don’t notice any noise on left turns, also embarrassed to say I don’t know if it has a viscous coupler or not. CDL is not locked because I can definitely tell when it’s locked.

The VC in my 97 was toast when acquired and it chirped the tires in slow turns, removal solved the issue.
