Right Hand Side Snorkels - Perfect for Diesel 40's :)

A while back I was trying to find a Right Hand Side Snorkel for my Bj46 but everything was Left Hand Side and I could not bring myself to use that horrid cross over tube.

I looked at fabricating one but reality was I wanted the square plastic style as I preferred it and cost of making one like that would blow out.

Anyway I have found a manufacturer and am trying to gauge interest to see if anyone else wants one or if I just get one for myself and move on.

Price would be around $300 USD Shipped or $250 pickup in San Diego Area. These are not Chinese, I tried China and they wanted me to do a run of 500 .. yeah that aint gunna happen.

I will get some pictures shortly but they look exactly the same as the below version but on the other side of the truck.

Here are some pictures. I have fender off so I could mock up to build brackets etc without cutting anything. It is dimpled for the side vent etc.

Yeah I might be keen, I'm in Aus though so we'll have to ship it, depends what sort of price we're looking at. I'm gonna try ringing some custom guys here and see what price they're offering, but I rekon this will still end up cheaper. I'm 70% in at this stage!

Yeah no worries shipping to Australia shouldn't be to bad BUT just an FYI I would expect I can ship 2 for the same price as one so if you have a mate that wants one as well might be an option

Yeah I'm getting pretty keen now, the custom stuff here is $800 plus. I dont know anyone else with a bj so I have no need for 2! Are there any aussies out there who need one to make shipping cheaper??

Sure it will be a few months but I will get some when I put it back on.

i’m in canada but would be in for one at that price point. if it’s not too expensive to modify design you could also see if they could make the A pillar attachment on the tub side of the window hinge so the window can still be folded down.

I have made the attachment onto the lower hinge not the upper so you can lay it down and spaced it out from the fender slighlty to allow it to clear the screen . Although I must admit when you lay it down it looks pretty funny having your head and snorkel sticking up

lol i bet. i haven’t done it yet but have heard other complain of that. i’m doing a mercedes diesel swap and the intake is on the right side so yes this snorkel would be on my list to purchase if you get a run done i’ll buy

No, well they can but I did not bother with a LHS as there are some many Chinese options people are selling for less than what the freight costs me

Oh, goodness. You have no idea how much hassle this will save me. I'm literally down to buying a new BJ70 snorkel and trying to reshape it to fit the -40 windshield angle by cutting and welding the plastic. ...whiiiich sounds like a recipe for a mess.

I feel your pain , I have more than a few proto types before I went with these
