Ridies Seat Covers (for Ivory interior) what color to pick?

The arm rests have a circular cover on the outside that pops off. Once that is removed there is a bolt (maybe a 14mm) that unscrews to remove the armrest. It is pretty simple actually.

Thanks, just found that info after a lengthy 'search'. Yor are correct .....a 14mm or 9/16" socket. 👍

Seems the only tricky part is getting the armrest back on (clocked correctly). The ratcheting device is in the armrest and needs to be in a certain position when reinstalled in order for the armrest to work correctly (adjust as intended).

I have pulled mine twice. The ratcheting device clocking isn't too difficult. Once you look at it, it will make sense how it fits back together pretty simply. I do remember there was some part that feel out of mine the second time (maybe a black plastic piece from the armrest?). It wasn't hard to put the piece back in, but I don't remember exactly what it was. Just wanted to give you the heads up about that if you see something fall out of it.

Talked with out local Auto Upholstery guy (only person doing this in our town).

Said he thought he could do the installation of the covers on each seat for about $200.00 each. But can't get to them until sometime in February (which is fine).

Question: Does anyone know how to remove the armrests and what socket/tools are needed? I am wanting to remove my seats (when time) and take them to him instead of the entire vehicle and was thinking I would disassemble the seats as much as I am able to, in order to save him the trouble. He is booked up on custom work until next summer but is willing to work me in.

He said he has done this job on the same type vehicle before....but it had been a few years. Seemed to remember it was a fairly complicated seat to disassemble (the back and armrests).
Also check this post for tips to remove the rear panel.

Glad you posted this. I don't think I would have figured out how to remove them without breaking something. Might just order a few mounting clips to have on hand just in case I break them anyway. I'm good at breaking things.

Got the leather samples I requested from Ridies and compared the most recent 'Light Tan' swatch to one they sent a year or so ago. It was pretty much a perfect match, so the leather color (for their product) would seem to be consistent.

I have settled on 'Light Tan Nappa' as the best match (not perfect....but good) for the Ivory Interior on my 1999 LX470.

Just posting this for posterity sake. Someone else is bound to have the same question(s) I did in the future.

Thanks to all my 'MUD' brethren for your help. 👍

There’s a Ridies vendor seat leather thread that has all the information one would need but it has been archived or deleted. So I don’t think it’ll show up in a random generic search.

Hey @flintknapper. Following up from a week ago. I finally got my sample from Ridies today and the light tan is a perfect match to my OEM interior. Just confirming for ya!

Just had one LC100 (‘04) replaced with LSEAT - installer said seats took some tinkering and cuss words to get right, especially the armrests. I will order Ridies for my other 100 after his issues. Bisque is a good match, but would skip LSEAT except for budget builds.

$250 installed (I did remove seat pads from frame, saving $150+). Not to hard to take apart, just have to clip 2 hog rings on each seat. Lots of wires to snake through.

Going with Ridies Light Tan For LC100 #2 {‘98). Ivory and Oak are ‘almost’ the same.

Proceed with caution ordering seat covers from Ridies.

In 2024, I ordered a full Napa leather interior set and additional hides for a full interior conversion on a customers 80.

The covers did not fit properly and were unusable. They were short cut 2" in areas, leaving the foam and frame visible. I reached out to them regarding the issue (both email and phone) and they went silent.

Terrible customer service and poor product quality. Proceed with Caution.

I've had very good experience with US Auto Seat Nation.
Initially they didn't carry Grey replacement leather, only Tan, for the LX or LC.
I called them, sent them my headrest, and they made me a Grey Driver Seat Bottom Only for my 2003 LX470.
No upcharge for custom color.
That was in 2020.
They now list both Grey and Tan on their website.

Since then, in the past 6 months, I've ordered and installed (2) Tan Seat Bottoms (Driver and Passenger) for one client and a Full Front Set (2 Bottom and 2 Tops) for a 2nd client.
All very good color match and quality.

I have no affiliation with them (I'm in Pittsburgh, they are in Texas I believe...).

Enjoy.
Tom
