Would 11 bumpers be possible here or does that screw up logistics/pricing? This is starting to look plausible for me if they land in Raleigh with Dangcat.
TIA
Well hello fellow Carolinian, so nice that Spring stopped by last week! Yeah you guys just let me know and i will be more than happy to help. I can live stream/upload the receiving/shipping process so that everyone can see exactly how it arrived and exactly how it left here. You guys are welcome to stop by any time to check up on things/be there when shipment arrives as well. I don't want anyone having trouble sleeping at night wondering if their bumpers are in good hands lol.
Hi there, yes it seems were are getting a taste of all four seasons in a 72 hour period, which is par for the course i'd say. On the purchase front, am I correct to assume that once shipped from Rhino, they would port somewhere on the west coast and then from that currently TBD location be shipped again to you, say for us guys on the East Coast, and then somewhere else more convenient for the others? Obviously Jason will have more concrete information soon, just thinking it through.
Yep, so the bumper comes in 2 parts so that it isn’t so long that it can’t fit on one pallet. That’s a good thing. He posted this in his original thread. Assuming thats a 6ft bed, kinda gives you an idea..

That's two separate bumpers. I've got an email out to Rhino inquiring on the size of the pallet. I'm assuming standard 40"x48" based on the size of the box but have no idea.Yep, so the bumper comes in 2 parts so that it isn’t so long that it can’t fit on one pallet. That’s a good thing.

Anyone have any idea how we can figure out what sort of of customs/import fees FedEx might charge on these? Determining shipping fee from west coast shouldn't be too difficult.
Alright...I've got what I feel to be great news.
Heard back from Rhino yesterday:
Bumper comes in one box. 65kg--100cm x 65cm x 45 cm. Each box is palletized and shipped individually to each customer. Flat international shipping fee of $720 AUD (~$500 USD) to the US. They use TNT who then hands off to FedEx to finish delivery. This is where you each will need to do your homework to determine additional cost to get it from the west coast (assume LAX or SFO) to your location. Perhaps @Dangcat can help with this?
Each person will be emailed an individual invoice to pay with the bulk discount applied. Credit card payments incur a 1.5% surcharge. Invoices will be issued in AUD.
Shipping is air freight so bumpers will be in the US within a week of leaving Rhino.
Assuming 10% discount (we currently have 15 people interested so hopefully no more than 5 reconsider):
2016+ bumper---$2200 USD + FedEx fees +/- options (bull bar, camera relocation, stainless bash plate, etc.)
2008-2015---$2050 + FedEx fees +/- options
For those that are still in at these prices go back to the Google spreadsheet and add in any missing info. I made some changes so please ensure everything is 100% accurate. There are no do overs once this gets sent to Rhino.
Name
Phone number
Shipping Address
Email address
Bumper year with desired options
If you are not comfortable putting your address and/or phone number on the sheet, please email me and I'll put together a separate spreadsheet that I'll send to Rhino
I'll compile everything and send off to Rhino first thing next week. I did not confirm this but suspect they won't ship until they have payment in full so once you receive the email invoice, please pay ASAP and notify me that you've paid.
Questions?
I was just thinking that might've been 2 bumpers, thanks for clearing that up. It still looks like it it comes dissambled with a left and right part since 40 inches length is not enough to cover the width of the bumper. Definitely a 1 standard-sized-pallet job, and looks safe to stack 2-3 on each pallet if people who are close to each other want to bundle and save. Looking at the map it looks viable for some (i added 2 more to map today from VA).
Is it an option to ship from west coast straight to each individual, as in is there someone there with the ability to handle this over there? You would need a place with a loading dock and some pallet jacks and extra pallets, as well as someone to handle the work of individually loading/preparing(strap and wrap)/creating shipping labels for them. If there is no option on West Coat, then i will just research shipping specifically from our warehouse here in NC, since i already know we can handle that here. Will keep everyone posted on what i learn.
