My driver’s side window was somewhat intermittent and always slow. Today I started putting it down and it stopped after 10” or so and wouldn’t move up or down. (Of course it’s 30 degrees here and going to get colder soon!)

I played with the wiring in the door jam area as I understood this to be an area that can go first. The window moved up about 3” but stopped again and wouldn’t move despite me messing the the wiring. I took the door card off and was able to “jump” the window up. Good news (great news?) was that the motor worked awesome. Never saw the window move like that since I’ve owned the truck.

So. . .i ‘think’ I have an issue with the wiring in the door jam area and I have a good motor. What can I do to clean up/rewire the driver’s door so it works like I just experienced all the time? Any info/guidance is appreciated.

No experience on a 62 but I just did this on my 60 and re-wired my front speaker wires. Pretty sure a 62 would be the same. Just more wires.

The 60 had 2 20 or 22-gauge wires and there was plenty of room for 2 16-gauge in there plus room for a couple of smaller gauge wires.

Just remove the sub-harness, measure where the rubber grommets and mounting tabs are, then unwrap the miles of tape, replace the wires and wrap with new tape in the same order the factory did.
