Im trying to install an aftermarket backup camera to a sony head unit. Is there a place to tap off a reverse signal behind the dash or near the drivers footwell?

I just consulted the FSM for a 2002. It looks like there is a junction on the drivers side labeled ID1. Connector ID1 should be in the left kick panel. This connector will have several wires. It appears the one you are looking for is the red with the black stripe. The FSM shows this to come off of Terminal #12 on ID1. I have attached the photo of the connector. You could probably tap into it there. I have found the drivers side dash easier to navigate than the passenger side.

Thank you so much. Now, to see if i can find that plug amongst the other ones in the DS footwell haha. Wish me luck.

You can also grab it behind the glove box. Same red wire with black stripe, at least on my '99. I found this easier since I was already running the USB and ipod cord into the glove box area.
