And the cooler is still under warranty!

We had one like that growing up. Cool find.

I love vintage camping gear and rock some old gear. Some camp chairs have been on the list for a while that are light and don't suck. Those old school aluminum ones look decent and I never considered them an option. I happened to stop by a garage sale today and had to pick up a set. I may have overpaid at $4 a piece but they are full aluminum including the arms. As long as the webbing holds up they are good to go for the season.

Most comfy camp chairs ever.

Re-creating the back pack responsible for turning people off to backpacking for at least three generations. Probably the worst pack design I have ever used.

I found this in the back of the FJ40 when I was cleaning it out today (it has become kind of a catch all during it's recent retirement). I found it at a Garage sale a few years back, don't even remember what I paid for it $5 is written on the box but I doubt I gave more than three if that.

The canvas looks good but it is very fragile, yet another sewing project.

I kind of like the packed size of the cot and that it is low enough to use on a small tent or just on the ground.
That thing looks exactly like the new Alagash cots!

I have two just like that. Haven't used them since the mid-80s. They were good packs.

My old Kelty is maybe a notch or two better than a Trapper Nelson... :) I still have it but haven't used it since I upgraded to a Jansport in the 80s.

It sleeps nice, I took a nap on it a while back. This summer the plan is to use it with my Big Agnes holo fill air matt and encampment sleeping bag. Unless it's buggy I think I can skip the tent altogether.

I am a fan of external frame packs. If you compare them to internal frame packs they weigh much less per unit volume. I also like that they give you more air space between your back and the load for ventilation.
