I used the 1" dd end of a late model Chevy truck for the end of the steering column. I use them because you can use the telescoping shaft and u joints if you want to and the junk yard is full of steering columns that the crackheads have ruined trying to get parts off of. I used an atro van box to keep the steering box inside the engine compartment

So, being the glutton for punishment that I am, I've begun putting together a Frankenstein. It's titled as a 78 but its got aqualu parts and various 75-78 parts. I'll be using the 75 drive train. The frame is 78. I cut some 74 doors into half doors and I'm going to use a pair of gm(?) highback bucket seats that I've got laying around. I'm just going to use a s10 tilt column and saginaw PS. Hopefully the 78 booster I have still functions for the brakes. It will be as basic as I can get it.

Believe the cowl on the last one is either from a 75 or 76. The welded shut vent in the center cowl has two drains that drained thru front of the transmission cover. If your not planning on filling in cowl should plan for the drain before you get to paint.
Yeah, I'm filling the cowl. It'll at least look a bit more like a 78 that way
