Not that I will have time nor ambition but lets say (and I know there were some out there) some one reproduced HAR's how close to stock would they have to be and what would y'all be will to pay? Just a thought.

That is very good thought. I have my pristine headache rack at a local fab shop that is building a jig for the loop and mounting brackets. The rest is straight angle iron that bolts on. I have seen prices from 200.00 to 550.00 for racks. Once I have a price per unit I will let you know.

I thought I remembered you being 'on' this. ;)

I brought it up as I know a fab-master and didn't know if anyone else had something going already. They aren't that complex unless you want an exact factory replica. Keep us posted Bull.
I am surprised that lomussas hasn't made some.

The shop has made a few hoops, but the bend in them were rippled. Trying to play with the widths to get a nice smooth radius bend. PM me if you want to compare notes etc

I bought a repro headache rack a few years ago from Vic? very close to stock, paid under $300 for it shipped

headache

I had a local metal guy work on bending the outer loop for me and we had the same problem with crimping. He suggested filling with sand and capping before bending. Found a good one, so I never tried.

I just saw a show on how trombones are made.... no no stay with me... :D They freeze water in the tube before they bend the 180 bends, but then they stick it in a form and force a ball bearing through it to make sure it's just right.... So I don't know if it'd work the same...

The originals have the formed C-channel and don't show any sign of the outer part of the ben collapsing. I would think it take some serious equipment to make an exact replica.

I have had a hard time finding square ball bearings. ;)
