That's what I'm saying, everyone needs to know about this IMO. I'll post some pics up in a second, but ya it's everything that you'd expect, for $14. It's really solid feeling in my hand, and when turning in a cylinder. The only thing that should be noted, is that you have to twist the two shells a couple turns to get the spring loaded action to work right on reassembly. Replacing the battery when you assemble it will save you from doing it when a used battery wears out sooner than a new one.

EDIT: Here's some pics:

Worlds largest car key? OR exceptionally small hands?

This metal key has served me well the past few years, with no worrying about the weak key shell ever breaking. I use the key fob to lock and unlock the doors, and the sturdy metal one to start the rig. Simple, cheap, but effective. It hasn't bothered me a bit to have to carry 2 keys instead of one.
Should anyone out there decide to do this, you do have to have both keys on the same key ring because the car won't start unless the transponder is close.

I use the metal key too. But I've defeated my anti theft by mounting my transponder guts onto the ignition housing behind the dash. :-/

Should you use the e-bay flip key, and, uh... - "hypothetically" - were to run it through the washing machine, my (very educated and sure) guess is that it would still work. I had a "friend" who did this... ;)

I just went to had that key fob duplicated at home depot and it wont turn the ignition but it will unlock the door on my 1999 100 series. Is there a chip in the key? Can you cut the key again once its been cut?
