I posted this a few days ago with as a GPS and didn't get any responses. I changed the title, because my real questions involves replacement gauge clusters.

I work for a company that makes digital speedometers for Motorcycles and ATV.

In one week we are releasing a GPS with a wheel sensor speedometer, engine temperature, volt meter and tachometer.

My FJ40's gauge cluster has not worked for a long time. The only gauge that works is fuel.

I was hoping to get some feedback from anyone out there who could give me some thought about this unit for a replacement gauge.

It is retailing for $279.95

Let me know what you think

That looks nice. IMO, the ultimate would be one that plugs into OBDC connector and had system status screens. Add that to GPS and you'd have a heck of a unit. Of course, this is more applicable to newer rigs than the 40 you reference in your other post.

I would totally put something like that in my 40. All but my temp gauges work, but I am a computer/electronic geek and would love something that would show everything on a screen. The screen on this unit may be too small though.
Hmmm maybe a unit that sends the info through USB for plugging into a laptop/carputer; non-OBD for the older gen LCs

I will get one mounted in my FJ in the next month or so and send out photos. I think the speedometer and compass will be large enough and the temperature sensor activates warning lights at preset temperatures.

There is an MicroSD car in the side of the unit that can be plugged into a computer to get certain data.

Looks pretty cool, although it seems hard to monitor speed tach temps and voltage on that little screen, I would be interested to see more of this though...

BTW, why did they put a wheel speed sensor on it, I would think the GPS would take care of that.

X2 on having a OBD hookup and readout on the screen! Not that it would work on my cruisers.

It does have GPS speed and it is good, but it has its limitations.

GPS likes to see the difference in position. If you are in an area that has limited satellite visibility, the gps wanders and registers miles on the odometer. The increased odometer readings could trigger maintenance earlier than normal and not provide the correct data.

Another reason we included the wheel sensor is smart logging. The track logging is triggered off the ignition or the wheel sensor. Depending on your settings you can log only when you are moving creating clean tracks.
