hello.

just acquired a 77 fj40 b engine. am just a beginner and desperately in need of a manual. any idea where to downloadl it?

some recommend buying it, but cant because am outside of the US, i live in a place where visas or credit cards dont exist. internet connection is a 256 wireless broadband (can live with that):D. i live in sagada btw

your help will be really appreciated.

im having trouble with the oil pump, i need some advice on how to work it out.

thanks.

Hello Darylnico,

I have a copy of Max Ellery's manual but it's for the deisel, covering bj's hj's and lj's from '72 to '90. It covers the 40's. I go to Sagada when able, though I prefer to make the trip after the rainy season when I don't have to worry about falling off that mountain as much. I usually stay at Bang's place, and as you're in Sagada, you should know him. I'll try to remember to bring my manual next time I go up so you can copy it. Ask Bang to give you a call next time he sees the guy in a tall LC80 who crawled in without brakes last time arrives.

I don't have a scanner and it's a pretty thick book. I hope you have a good copy center there, I never looked. I was too involved in shooting pictures of the area.

umm, that is the "F" series oil pickup and "F" series pump, right?
the "B" series is in the front of the block, apart of the "heart" shaped timing gear case...
i don't have a scanner but i do have the manual here in front of me...
cheers

LOL!!
i just re-read the first post and it looked like a swapped in "B" engine... now i am not so sure...

cheers

:D its a bj40, sorry got it all mixed up. rosco is right, i have a bj40 b engine.

thanks to bigbrowndog for the time and effort. i could get some useful info from it.

if anyone has the manual (for the oil pump) and could scan and post it here, it would be a big help.

thanks a bunch

I don't expect to have the opportunity to travel for a few months yet. It would probably be faster if you explained your problem to the board. The people here are often expert on these things and can many times give better advice.
