Get the factory emmisions manual, it helps alot. I just completed desmogging my '84 FJ60 and it's never run better. I'm in FL, so I sent the dizzy and carb off to JimC to be rebuilt/recurved and followed the diagrams in the Tech section. Off the top of my head, this is what I did.

Junk removed:
smog pump
injection rail
gobs o vacuum lines
exhaust manifold
EGR crud
air manifold piping chunk
lots of stuff I can't remember

Junk installed/replaced:
idle pulley (JimC) in place of smog pump
SOR 2-pc header (don't buy thier y-pipe, doesn't fit)
injection rail holes plugged in the head
stock carb (tuned and plugged appropriately by JimC)
EGR inlet welded up

Thats all I can remember right now. I've been driving it for a week or so and it runs great. Cranks on the first starter hit, idles perfect, and has 18 in-Hg @ 700 rpms. I had EGR issues, intake manifold leaks, lots of tubing leaks, and mysterious carb problems. Put your header on with a thick gasket and copper RTV and it won't leak. Oh yea, I kept the cat on mine.

MSUMMER has a good list, although I'd just add that the SOR header Y pipe can be made to fit with a few well-placed whacks from a BFH to clear the cross member.

I wacked the tar out of mine and it still wouldn't line up, so I had an exhaust shop fab one up. They had to move the cat and rehang the exhaust anyway. Man open headers are loud on the street!

i have been looking through the parts microfi, and if you compare the can./us parts photos, it looks like the can. were "de-smoged"

here is a pics of vac lines for can. 2f and us 2f

That is funny!

Where did you find the CDN layout?

Wish my smog equipment looked like the left picture.

the cdn parts schematics are great, it shows both us and cdn versions of parts. i have been comparing the two side by side. no need to re-engineer the system. if your interested pm me and i'll email you copies of all systems (smog related)
