Posting these for Brian...actually I'm just posting a link to my album. 200 plus pics in there with comments. I'm too lazy to link them all up here.

LINKY

Feel free to critique...but be forewarned I will only acknowledge positive responses.:flipoff2:

(I've been off the board way too long...lots of reading to do)

Very nice! It's been a great help and inspiration to read all these other gear set-ups, and attend weekend tutorials. Thanks for all the pics.

Damn Matt! You're not very detailed, are you?:D Very well done! You went and painted the housings..... now I will have to paint other stuff.... or you will, while you have the truck there. May just have to put the aussie locker in while this is all going on. We'll discuss.

Thanks for posting the pictures. I'll see you Saturday. I hope early AM works for you. Let me know.

Brian

wow - nice attention to detail

Will you redo mine? gone thru 4 or 5 ring and pinions since I got it from you, first sets lasted the longest. Now i'm back to 4.10's to keep spares readily available.

Arb's are scarred from the pinion and we can't seem to get the front pinion deep enough to get a good pattern without it hitting the arb.

how would heating it up affect a cryo'd and heat treated ring gear?

Ok, that is one awesome slideshow. I thought that by looking them all over I could maybe do this someday.... The only problem is that with all those pics, it scares the sh*t out of me to start that project that big. I definately need to attend a demonstration. Thanks for your documentation, and your detailed work....

Gracias...all

Travis: I'll look at them only if you don't mind a long turn around time...I work slooooow. ;) I'd be interested to see what's left of those thirds. are you swaping the arb to your spares or still using the same housings? I don't have a clue how cryo'd gears react to the oven...I'd have to read up on that.

Brian: I'll see you saturday morning. Marc you going to be there? My dad's coming down to hang out too.

Matt sounds good. I PM'd you. I will be there between 7:30 and 8:00

The oven won't effect the cryo treatment. Once it have been through the treatment there is no reversing it. regardless of how long it is heated. You really don't have to get too carried away with the oven if you have gas welding setup. Warm the RG until it's too hot to handle (30 sec to 1 min) and it should drop right on just as it did for Matt.

Matt, you are planning with your life putting parts in the wife's oven. Been there and suffered for it. At least you still have all of your appendages. :D

just been swapping the gears and bearings onto the old parts

long turn around is what I can't have - I'll just have to buck and pay to have it done at the race shop
sucks though, they want an extra $50 each because of the arb's even with me installing the copper line and all that special arb bizness
