Redline leather shift boots

I just found this thread titled "Leather boots for e-park & shift gear?" Apparently, according to yardbird88, you need to remove the transfer shifter boot ring and reinstall on your new leather piece.

I don't see how. I had the old one out and the wire feels like one piece. The new leather also has closed sections on four sides. No way to get the wire in without deconstructing a bit.

I may take another look to see what options are available now and reorder. Of course I will wait to see what you get in first ;)

In that thread, the OP states that the wire needed to be removed and sewn into the new one. He's got pics of it up. Sorry but I can't seem to add the URL link through this app or I would post it up for you.
