@sxwatson hey, what's up bro, I found this thread while poking around on google. I've been talking with you through ebay re: CB40F faceplate where the dash pocket goes. Thought we could pick up the conversation here since ebay can be lame about what is said through PM's

all these are a full size single DIN, to be clear .....

it can simply take the place of a Radio single din location

same as the CB40F can too
Any plans to make the 79-83 style? Thanks!

i might actually have a original one ?

but , i am also bot sure what the correct 79-83 pick-up one is supposed to look like ?

i know it goes only in the center section where the tuner display only is , and round plug deletes go in each tuner peg hole .........

this is correct right ?

The left side of it should have the same curve as the right and be symmetrical if turned front side to radio bezel. It said Toyota on it and what I don't remember exactly is if the top of it stopped just above the top cutout for the radio display but I think that's correct.

i have a few nos center dash switch panels ....

this fits your description very well ,

but ,,,

i can swear that each tuner peg round hole on each side gets a little round black delete plug too ?

i could be wrong ?

mut the profile details around the center tuner window and piano keys pre-sets and each tuner peg hole are suggestive of this //

below is a Corolla delete , tuner pegs style circa era , is does over lap like you describe

.

@ToyotaMatt I think you missed the part about how the bottom left/right corners curve to match the bottom corner of the bezel. Also, IIRC, the lettering is the 80's style font and not the 70's style. But that's a deep pull you got there for sure 👍

Gotcha on the Celica only part.
The spec parts is definitely a solid match.
Unfortunately the only cover plates of they style in question that I've seen have been on, usually, old clunkers for sale online.
Since I have a healthy addiction to finding parts for my rig through the usual sources I'll keep an eye out for an example and will post it if I come across one.

Anyone know where this would have been mounted? The ash tray maybe? It's listed on ebay for an 82-83 pickup...

In the pocket above the radio. I believe it mounts in a trim piece that mounted to the dash trim.

That trim piece is probably unobtainium. I called the seller and he said he would look for it, but I ain't holding my breath. Besides, I'm putting the CB there in my rig. @sxwatson Don't know how you'd be able to make that trim piece without buying this clock, but 3D printing that would be right up your alley.

They may have changed the curve on the plate for 82-83 and made it the brown color of the ashtray. Can anyone verify?

I've been working on 79 pickup that spent 20 years sat in the Arizona sun. This means anything plastic in the truck would fall apart if you looked at it wrong.
I spent a lot of time searching Facebook marketplace and eBay for parts and in a lot of cases came up empty or when I would find a part it would be way too expensive.

Decided I would make my own parts in some cases and I think in almost all cases what I've created I like better than the original.

1. Arm rests/Door pulls:

2. My truck is a 79 but I bought a new dash bezel for a 81-83 I think. I was going to Vintage Air for A/C so this style dash bezel worked better for my needs with the opening for A/C controls instead of solid area with openings for sliders. This came without the cubby above the radio so I 3d printed a bezel for Vintage Air controls that screw right into the bezel and 3d printed a cubby that is deep enough to hold my phone and I added a mag safe wireless charger.

3. Fuse box cover (mine was missing). While I was at it, I decided to add extra fuse holders in the lid.
