Just picked up a wet of Tundra wheels which I will use as my non-winters. They did not come with TPMS. I'd like to get a set of programmable sensors that can be cloned from my existing sensors in the original LX wheels - this way I can swap wheels at will without having to re-program the LX for new sensors.

Are there specific sensors you can recommend? Anything to look out for? Have never done this before.

I think I would go OEM next time for peace of mind. These sensors are for a Tundra wheel for my Tundra’s snow tires. Steel SR5 wheel.

Even though the sensor is not flat against the wheel like OEM, it works. These were from Ebay and I was not relishing the thought of dismounting the tires and replacing the sensors.

OEM sensors have arguably the best quality possible, but they aren't clonable so OP would have to reprogram his truck every time he switched wheels.

Also if your tundra wheels are steel IIRC you'll need 20-degree TPMS. 35 for alloy.

Sorry I can't help more.. just know OEM won't do what is needed.

Thanks for that info!

Yes, definitely can't do OEM unless someone can clone to them.

I just swapped two dead oem ones with Denso units off of amazon. They were $32 a piece. I had to use a combination of Carista to enter the ID numbers and then Techstream to clear the tpms codes. Between buying the two sensors, the Techstream software plus obd2 cable and a week of Carista pro it costs me about $105. Plus I now have the software and cable.

For 2015 and under the Autel sensors work good. The programming computer is $125 and the sensors are $30. I've had mine about 9 months and no issues. You can read your current tpms and copy/clone or use techstream to read out the current values and then set that value manually.

I got my TPMS sensors 2 years ago from discount tire. They are giving me issues now and I am irritated. I notice its worse on cold days.

Finally got around to ordering what I needed.

Picked up:

Autel TS408 tool
Autel MX sensors

Total damage was around $430 CAD.

The tool can read existing IDs and program new sensors. The sensors are dual-band (working on 315MHz that the LX needs, but also support 433MHz), and can be adjusted to fit both 20-degree and 35-degree wheels.

Hope to have summer wheels/tires installed with these sensors within the week.
