Hey gang,

Starting to build up my 200 for a summer of camping across the West Coast.

I'm looking for a recommendation/ picture inspo for an awning x tent x rack setup.

I'm looking for:
Awning and tent have quick release solutions. I know front runner offers this as a first party accy but that rack sits super high and covers the sunroof. I'm looking more at sherpa or gamiviti, and I don't know if either of those support quick release mounts for the tent and the awning. It seems like sherpa will have better support for roof top cases, cans, etc.

I want to be able to pull the tent and awning off on Sunday evenings when the outdoor stuff is over. I have a HUGE commute and mpg matters.

If anyone has pics of a combo that just works for work mode / play mode let me know.

Not completely within the outline of the request but @sleepycruiser shared this lift system in another recent RTT discussion

I have the front runner quick release system. I cannot vouch for how easy/quick it is but can vouch for its strength after surviving an unfortunate 60-0 mph rapid deceleration event :/

Those quick releases would be a great add! With the above lift it would make mounting a RTT a 2 minute job. Hmm.

They may be available soon.
They did come with caveat of needing a support Chanel too for specific brands (baroud and maggiolina) of tent. Both being fiberglass may be part of reasoning.

Interesting. I wonder if those cross supports are needed on mine. I didn’t realize that they required those on the hard shells and I found a few posts out there saying they were not needed.

I’d be interested if I could figure all this out.

InspireOverland Trailpeak RTT

I was getting about 16mpg highway and 13 city with the tent on. Slight reduction of MPG however it doesnt bother me as my daily gets 45mpg.

I have the LFD Offroad full rack on my 200. It’s great. He is in NC as well…close to Charlotte.

Side note: my MUD name originated from Sleepy Monkey. I assume with ‘Carolinapanic’ you would know what that means?? Haha.

I have the ARB Awning - on / off in 2 minutes and has LEB lighting.
Comes with an optional "tent room".

For the roof rack you may want to go with a version that runs full length but has a full opening for the sun roof.
The full length is for the full length awning brackets.

I emailed Front Runner/Dometic and the cross supports are not needed for my RTT. They did mention it is needed for the Baroud, etc due to the shells being fiberglass as you mentioned.

They did recommend 6 mounts for my tent. I found a pair (I think) and hopefully can find some more.

Correct. Fiberglass shells only.
JB and maggiolina come to mind. Maybe Icamper as well.

I absolutely know what that means, though most of my touring is Phish and Goose now.

I have the ARB Baserack with TopOak tent and awning. But for me the key is the MyLifter hoist system I installed in my garage for it. RTT has the awning and solar panel attached to it, so a couple thumbscrews in via the sunroof, a couple standing on the tailgate and it’s all on or off together in minutes. The quick release mounts I investigated only seemed to add height, and the thumb knobs are easily removed.

Eezi Awn full length rack
Autohome Columbus
Eezi Awn bar mounts

Mounts/unmounts in a few minutes. Incredibly solid.. I bought 2 packs from Equipt and use 6 of the bars..
