rebuilt the front bumper mount
so, this is what happened last week:
i went over to a friends house in arlington today to fix that little issue.
after we got the bumper off, i realized what a good job i did on it.
pulled the nut on the other side almost all the way thru the crossmember.
once we realized how bad it was, i decided to jsut cut the whole thing out and start over.
john (the friend) torching out the front crossmember and center of the front spring hanger.
crossmember and spring hanger out:
replaced it with 2"x4" box tube.
john cutting out the bent section of the bumper.
replaced it with this: quarter inch angle iron.
this thing is now built hell-for-stout. it aint going nowhere.
btw, the reason i am not in any of these pics: my fab skills are nonexistent. i traded john a set of shocks for his CJ project for the labor.
