Anyone with a HF1A (part-time) transfer case done a self-rebuild on theirs? Mine is I think original to the vehicle. It's got a wobbly rear output flange so that means it's at the point of needing proper attention.

I can get a rebuild kit. I've never pulled a transfer case apart but would there be any internal gears, etc that I should try to get as spares given it's age (26 yrs)?

For comparison, Toyodiy shows this:

36110 TRANSFER ASSY
36120-60030 (01/1990 - 12/1991) 1 $4,618.91
36120-60031 (08/1992 - 12/1997) 1 $3,948.48
36120-60070 W(PTO DRIVE GEAR) (01/1990 - 07/1991) 1 $4,618.91
36120-60071 W(PTO DRIVE GEAR) (08/1992 - 12/1997) 1 $3,948.48

Mine has the PTO drive provision. Not sure I can justify the cost of a new one (if actually available) when I'm trying to save up A$11k for an import 1HDFT motor. ;)

craig.
