I'm going to be helping my son change these out on his 2008 4Runner. Tried to find a youtube video to give me an idea what I was in for and didn't have much luck. Have any of you done this that can give me some helpful tips or pitfalls to avoid?

A buddy of mine made a press tool for an older tundra wonder if it would work on this year 4 runner
 
This is my vehicle.... 2008 Toyota 4runner sr5 v6 4.0... it has rear wheel disc brakes. The passenger side has a caliper that is stuck on so the original plan was to do a brake job until it was noticed that the drivers side rear axle was leaking as well. All of the videos and information that I have found are for later models. A parts list would be really helpful. The shop wanted over $1,200 to do the rear brakes and rear axle seal... not gonna happen. I'd rather buy the parts and do it myself with my pops. I just don't know what all I need to buy to do the job. So a parts list would be really helpful if anyone has an idea. Please and thanks!

Go to McGregor Toyota website, plug in your VIN, see exploded views of your parts, order parts, wait to receive, Install.
 
Ended up just needing a seal for rear axle. Also rear rotors and calipers. One locked up badly. Parking brake drum was a nightmare. But my pops got it back together.

I know right. Driver's rear axle was leaking and passenger rear caliper locked on. It took quite a bit of work getting to the axle seal but the hardest work was getting that parking drum reassembled.
 
The inside brake pad on the passenger side had dropped out and was "floating" inside the drum for the e-brake. That caused the caliper to push directly on the rotor. We took off the caliper cut the brake line and plugged it with a screw for a couple days until the parts came in. @Capone913 maybe you can figure out how to post the before video of the caliper.
