Rear view camera

Wolfbox has some cool options.

I run a Garmin gps that has a couple of cameras attached to it. There's a lot of latency which is annoying.

I do like that you can run a smaller window and still see the map.

And full screen.

I put in a cheap rear view camera mirror from scamazon awhile back.
Ran the cable over the top of the windshield , down the a-pillar and back out through the license plate light wiring grommet. Camera mounts to a bracket that sandwiches between the license plate and the plate bracket.
Works ok

Note I did modify the mount arm to make it sit closer to the windshield.
It popped off with a bit of leverage.

Funny I clicked on a Wolfbox ad and now I’m getting tons of their ads on social media lol.

I’m considering installing since I put in the drawers and the rear view is obstructed some now. My plan is to have it inside at the top of the glass on the hatchback. I’ve read that higher up is better (water spray and tire obstruction). And being inside eliminates the water issue and getting the wire outside. Wiring should be pretty easy with the shelf created by the rain gutter. Biggest challenge is making the power cord to the fuse box or cigarette lighter look clean. Nothing to hide those wires unfortunately.

I tried that on my 80 series Landcruiser. Didn't work. Too much glare on the inside of the glass to make the image usable.
Tried offsets and the lense right on glass.
May have been the factory reflective tint causing the issue.
Either way in a 40 with ambulance doors or on the license plate bracket, the image will be offset but having a hatchback would be ideal for center placement.

Okay got mine installed and it works through the rear window! Vertical non-tinted glass I think helps. I also installed one below the bumper so I can see lower when backing up. That is nice to have. One thing I will add to this is the anti-glare film. There are times when the reflection is too strong and you can’t see the screen very well.

What brand and model is that? Having three inputs is convenient.

I could see putting in a camera like your lower and a front bumper camera in addition to the rear high mount camera.
I got the Wolfbox G900Tripro. I've seen some video of people mounting the third camera under the car to make sure you had adequate clearance over obstacles - pretty cool!

After playing around with the camera more, I learned about tilt and panning so probably didn't need the lower bumper camera. It is a little slow to access that functionality however and the way I have it setup now I can just swipe the screen and I can easily toggle between cameras. The tilting function requires a press and hold on the screen and then use an arrow to lower the view. Not that much longer, but when backing up I'd rather have quicker access to that camera.

FYI - the three cameras are - 1) built-in to the mirror front facing 4K camera; 2) rear camera mount wherever you want inside or outside 2.5K; 3) third cam is a 1080p camera (the lowest resolution) and again designed for anywhere. The cable they provide has a more rugged outer shell so it clearly is the one that they expect you to run primarily outside. I ran mine under the car inside the frame.

Thanks for the details. That will be a good replacement for mine when it decides to quit working
