rear PROPELLER SHAFT position problem

Which way PROPELLER SHAFT should be fitted? Mine is different way than 2007 diesel model. In mine, sliding side is connected to differential and is exposed to damage. Manual for 2004 petrol model says, it is correct but toydiy.com state different.

IIRC the slip joint goes on the t-case side. Can't remember if it's in phase or out.

Yes, slipjoint goes to t-case.

Slip yoke can be placed on either end. The DS should be balanced and as such the different ends and their placement do not matter. In-phase and out-of-phase do matter.

I swap mine around based on use.

Could you explain please, what does "in-phase and out-of-phase" mean?

I had this same question on mine. My FSM for gas US model has slip joint at diff end. Someone else checked a couple of different FSM's and came back with two answers. My truck had slips at transfer case end, most photos on MUD show slips at transfer end. Here is the thread I started.
