rear main seal

tried the search button... but could not find this specific answer.

when replacing the rear main seal, must I remove the rear main seal holder? Or should I just try to pry it out? If I _do_ have to remove the rear main seal holder... will it be stuck to the oil pan seal?

this is a 1987 BJ74 with 13BT, 150KM on it. Engine is currently out of the truck.

nope, pry out the old seal and insert a new one...reassemble

Cool. Thanks Wayne. I only have one rear main... they are hard to get down here (though someone told me it's the same as a 2F?!!! rear main).
