Rear inner quarter panel rust, seatbelt anchor

Anyone else deal with this lately? I was washing mine and discovered that my passenger side seat belt anchor is squishy

Check both. The reinforcement around the captive nut holds water after the underbody rustproofing cracks.

I ended up cutting it out, and welding in a new patch

Nice! What gauge metal did you use? I can't believe they designed the seat belt anchor that way!

Well I went to sound deaden the front half and replace the front seats to find my middle seat belt mounts left the party. When I went to unbolt them they stated to give out and pop through the floor.
Both sides looked like this after I started stabbing with a screw driver with almost no visible rust at first.
Highly recommend anyone with even a bit of rust go give those rear mounts a good check.
Still need to weld in the fillers but the Pacifico box should be good enough.
18 gauge filler. Going to double up and do another 18 gauge backer. Then a 1/4 inch plate with a nut welded to it.

Do you use Zinc Weld or similar high zinc content aerosol (sprayed on) between the plates?

I just have some leftover Steel-It to coat between the plates.
