Well, $80 later... Brian Roberts Electric tried, but was unable to fix it. Apparently the amature is past repairable :(

Now I will have to replace the whole unit. F@CK! :bang:

Does anyone have a lead on a used one I can get for a reasonable price?

Have you used them before Glenn? $250 seems exceptionally cheap compared to other places.

First you wine they are too expensive..... now they are too CHEAP?!?! you are nuts. :flipoff2:

try CruiserDan
1 - 800 - 432 -6668
probably $650

Maybe get a few more opinons on the amature being 'beyond repairable'

I spoke with Bob's Motor Electric (again referred by someone on mud), explained what Brian Roberts told me, and got basically the same answer.

Brian Roberts said it MAY be possible for some company in Ontario to repair it, but they'd have to ship it off for 2 weeks. I can live with that if it works, but... there's no gaurentee that it will work when I get it back.

they are out of business

you mean something in an 80 that isn't push button?

( I was going to suggest a string tied to the actuator....:hillbilly:)

I 2nd the string! 80's have too many buttons az it is. Use the empty button space for something more useful..... Like a Flux Capacitor.

Agreed with both Ryan and Vern. THe expresso machine would go really well with my fridge / ice maker console. But photon torpedoes would be the best IMHO. I'm sure we could wire something up.

I have a sale pending on a whole replacement actuator unit from a guy here in mud. Confirmed working. $375 shipped :)
