I exploded the rear DS in my 89 this past weekend so looking for options. I have been looking for OEM replacement but they seem to be a little difficult to find. I have looked into some of the stronger/aftermarket drive shafts but reluctant to go that route: not so bad that the DS is the weak link and therefore cheaper/easier to replace than diffs or other parts that could have broken.

done some digging on the forums but nothing specific found.

Looking for possible solutions or advise, thanks,

Howdy1 If you busted a yoke or damaged a tube, it is a common problem. Most good driveshaft shops cane fab up repairs/mods for whatever you need. If your original lasted 19 years, then just go with another stocker, new or used. If you don''t have a DS shop locally, look for a big truck/heavy equipment repair shop. They should be able to fix it or aim you in the right direction. John

Also, look into Oreillys or Autozone (kraigers etc). Last time I checked they ran around 200 with a lifetime warranty. They do have a core, so you would have to turn in your old one or itd be more!

Yeah, infact, theyll give you a whole new driveshaft before even thinking about replacing the ujoint. They arent very cost effective, but thats how you get an unlimited supply of birfs... without having to take them apart...

well a few more days of research has gotten me to here. Found place in Marietta, Ga that says "Yea, No problem! we can fix it." So he can re-tube & balance using my old DS parts for $130. I'll let you know how that goes.

Thanks for all the input, what I thought was going to be a relatively easy task turns out to be a PITA. :bang::bang: What's made this a little tougher is that I have a V6 3.0, had it been a 4 cyl. I would have it done already, oh well.
