Hi All,

Just picked up a 2009 LC. I'm starting to put together my build wish list. I wondering what you guys are using for rear drawers systems?

I'm heading over Slee's tomorrows to get some ideas. I'm sure the brand they sell will work great. Just trying to get ideas on other systems and opinions.

thanks

I know the Outback Solutions drawers (now owned by ARB) are expensive...but I have to say that after owning that system in my fully built 100 series (which I no longer have)...those drawers were THE most useful non-performance upgrade I did to my Cruiser.

-It meant that I always had equipment with me...organized...secure...uncluttered...and quiet.

-Created a more useful cargo area due to making it longer (same height as the folded-down, middle seats...adding about two feet of rear length...creating a continual surface in back).

-Creates a more usable, uniformly-wide cargo area...because it it fitted to the sides without a gap, or interruption by the wheel-wells...because it sits just above wheel wells.

-Side fit kit provides protected storage compartments/access in addition to drawers along left and right sides.

-Created a legitimate SLEEPING surface for my 6 foot 3 inch self...still leaving room for gear (without drawer surface+folded seats, the rear compartment it too short to accommodate body length).

-Provided a lockable, out-of-sight, secure location for firearms, camera gear, and other valuables.

All in all...despite the high cost? AWESOME upgrade, and likely the next upgrade I'll do after my BP-51s go in this month.

i should have clarified that i wanted to buy built ones. My carpentry skills aren't what i'd call a "skill".

I've put together rear storage stuff in our last several truck, so i know they are one of the best mods.

Stopped by Slee's today. Think will go with the Outback Solutions. Great looking system. Picking them up after Christmas.

Love Slee's parking lot. Always something to feast your eyes on.

I have also been looking into doing a drawer system in my LC, but have yet to find anything that I like. The thing that I have done for a while and seems to work well is stacker boxes. They lock in together so they don't move around, and let me orginize everything. The other nice thing is when it comes time to take them out after a camping trip or going on a big store run they are east to take out and put back.

Ordered Outback Solutions drawers from Slee. Including a cargo barrier. Pick up the drawers on Friday. Cargo barrier will be a few weeks.

You won't regret your purchases. Once you have them, they'll have to go in every vehicle you have in the future.

Agree with that. Really missing them after having them on my 100. Wish they weren't so dang expensive...

Since the 200 seats don't fold down, but rather tuck up behind the front seat backs, do you think this is still useful in the 200?

The 200 seats fold down the same as the 100... So ya. It works. Just don't lift them up against the seats when you fold them down. When you pull the release arm, it seems to automatically disengage from the floor...but just push it back down on the latch and leave the seats folded. In that position, they make a near-perfect with the drawer top for mattresses etc.

I'm 6'3", and with this setup, there is length to spare. Truly works a charm!

If traveling/sleeping alone...I use a mattress sized to fit just the wider left side seat width. Then I just stack gear on the right side when I wanna sleep & can leave the right side seat up if needed. I did this a lot on solo trips in my 100.

Here's my favorite mattress for single person that fits perfectly on the left side (so a little more than half width). It's only 4 inches tall, so you have enough headroom...but it's thick enough that you don't feel the floor at all:

For two sleepers, I just add a second slightly narrower blow-up from REI that works well along side the above.

Did you get the slide top version or the fixed top?

I had one slider and one solid in my 100. Probably going with two sliders this time.

What about 2 solids, a drop slide, a barrier, a shelf and a divider?

Step up your game!

Dooh! I forgot. You have a bed back there too!

Heehee... :)

Have you PRICED those ARB racks/dividers?? Hope pooop! Pricey!! As much as drawers...
